Geneva Foundry Case Study
The soil in a large residential area in New York State surrounding the former Geneva Foundry needed to be characterized for heavy metal contamination. There were a few key challenges to the project:
- A large number of samples were needed to characterize the area of interest
- There were other potential sources of contamination
- Contamination was heterogeneously distributed
- Measurement methods were unfavorable to the project
