Sindie ® - Your Low Sulphur Solution

As with all XOS analysers, Sindie ® is very easy to use and non-technical operators can learn how to use the instrument in minutes. Sindie complies with ASTM D2622 and D7039, as well as ISO 20884. The analyser requires minimal preventive maintenance with few moving parts equating to high reliability. Sindie has a single calibration curve that can be used across a variety of sample types, and typically requires calibration once or twice annually. Download our product brochure to learn more.

Precision Comparison Between XRF and UVF

With the Bharat Stage VI regulation lowering the allowable sulphur limit from 50 ppm to 10 ppm in India, marketing terminals are in the midst of determining the best solution to meet their needs – XRF or UVF. The most notable advantages of using X-ray fluorescence (XRF) compared to ultra violet fluorescence (UVF) are ease-of-use, reliability, and smaller ecological footprint. However, many are not aware that certain forms of XRF, notably XOS’ proprietary technology known as MWDXRF ®, offers comparable and oftentimes better reproducibility than UVF.

ASTM Proficiency Testing Programs (PTP) are statistical quality assurance programs that enable laboratories to evaluate and improve performance. ASTM conducted PTP studies between 2015 and 2017 and collected data from various labs testing sulfur in RFG and ULSD samples using common test methods for low sulfur automotive fuels: D2622, D7039, and D5453.
