XOS Introduces the CLORA On-Line Chlorine Analyzer for Crude Oil, Water and Process Streams

August 29, 2011 – XOS (USA) announces the introduction of its latest breakthrough product — the CLORA® On-Line Analyzer — for continuous on-line measurement of chlorine in crude, water, and high viscosity process streams. This solution satisfies industry demand for chlorine determination in upstream, desalting, and refining operations for corrosion management, environmental, and process control applications.

Berry Beumer, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at XOS, stated “Chlorides have traditionally posed significant challenges to the refining industry. XOS is on the forefront of providing practical and robust analytical solutions to the energy industry with unprecedented on-line detection performance.”

The CLORA On-Line Analyzer presents a process analytical solution for quantification of total chlorine from 0.2 ppm to 3000 ppm. CLORA analyzers do not require consumable gasses or liquids, and include comprehensive data communication and diagnostic capabilities to enable maximum up-time.

The new CLORA On-Line Analyzer, is based on the same MWD XRF analytical platform as XOS’ CLORA Bench-Top Analyzer, and delivers advantages including extremely low-maintenance operation, no sample conversion, superior energy resolution, and insensitivity to sample water content or temperature fluctuations.

XOS is a leading global provider of mission-critical materials analysis solutions for industries and regulators that are required to control material quality and performance in energy industries (e.g., petroleum) and consumer products (e.g., toys, apparel, and electronics). XOS pioneered the use of advanced x-ray optics in application-specific analyzers that measure environmental and product contaminants, such as sulfur, chlorine, lead, and cadmium.
